Curiosities

  • Counting the pre-production and production, it took five months to get Paper Walls finished, from October 15th 2006 until March 22th 2007.
  • The initial idea before the recording process was to make a list of 12 songs, but the band couldn't decide which one would be off, so they released 13.
  • "Light up the Sky" is the promo's song on the second season of the TV show Heroes.
  • The violin you hear in the episode 4 of Yellowcard Sessions is "Bombers", an iTunes bonus track.
  • Mendez sings in some songs of Paper Walls, like "The Takedown", "Shrink the World" and "Afraid".
  • Favorite songs on Paper Walls
    Mendez = Cut Me Mick
    Ryan = Shadows and Regrets
    Sean = Shrink the World
  • "Oh My Love" (Instant Karma's bonus track) was recorded in the Paper Walls recording process and was the first song to get finished.
  • Sean used his acoustic violin in a lot of tracks instead of the electric one which needs more effects.
  • “Five Becomes Four” is about Benjamim Harper, the former-guitarrist.
  • The voice that reads the letter on "Dear Bobbie" was recorded by Ryan Key's grandfather. The song is dedicated to the 58-year-old love relationship between him and his grandmother.
